 Closing Event of Gadchiroli Anganwadi ECCE Intervention Program

News Agency / Gadchiroli : TITLI works to empower Anganwadis to make children ready for formal schooling. It majorly focuses on empowering the Anganwadi workers to provide better quality of early childhood education to the children between the age-group of 3-6 years. TITLi has worked with more than 5 thousand Rural and Urban Pre-schools and impacted more than 1 Lakh children across 6 states of India.

The implementation of Anganwadi ECCE Program by TITLI in Gadchiroli District was done in 100 Anganwadis impacting at least 3 thousand 500 children annually. The project was conducted from October 2021- October 2022 in three blocks Le, Bhamragad, Chamorshi and Kurkheda. The project was undertaken under the CSR initiative of Tarapur Atomic Power Station (TAPS), Nuclear Power Corporation India Limited (NPCIL), a Government of India Undertaking and was supported by the Gadchiroli Collector and District Magistrate Shri Sanjay Meena, IAS and Gadchiroli Zila Parishad CEO Shri Kumar Ashirwad, IAS.

The project resulted in multiple improvements in the Anganwadis. It improved the attendance as well as retention of children in the age group of 3-6 years by 50%, improved learning outcomes of Anganwadi Children and made them better equipped for Primary Schooling, made it easier for thousands of parents to go to work, because their children are now keen to spend time in Anganwadis, which was not the case earlier, it nurtured the leadership abilities of Anganwadi Workers (AWWs) and Helpers (AWHs) thus improving the overall human capital, which results in more confident children in their respective Anganwadis, it enabled AWWS to become Master Trainers, who are now taking responsibility of other Anganwadi Workers within their blocks. The project has also generated a keen interest among other AWWs and AWHs to deliver effective ECCE in their respective Anganwadis and lot of Parents have started preferring to send their children to Anganwadis, instead of private pre-primary schools. On 10th November 22, a closing ceremony was organized at Krushi Utpadan Bazaar Samiti, Chamorshi, Gadchiroli which showcased the phenomenal work done by TITLI in improvement of Pre-School Education at Anganwadi Centers of Gadchiroli. Shri Sanjay Mulkalwar, Site Director, TAPS, NPCIL, Chief Guest for the function addressed the participants and said Main aim for attending this event was to look into the project outcomes and know whether it is implemented in an appropriate way for the target population. I must say that the confidence, inspiration is seen in the eyes of sevikas and when they are explaining their work. It seems that TITLI has empowered sevikas and they are ready with full enthusiasm to made a positive difference in the young minds of India. The event was also graced by Shri Kedar Bhave Chairperson CSR, TAPS, NPCIL, Shri Sunil Dhote, TAPS, NPCIL, Shri Rajendra Bhuyar, Addi CEO, ZP Gadchiroli, Deputy CEO ICDS Smt. Ingole Madam, BDO Chamoshi Shri Sagar Patil, CDPO Kurkheda Shri Ganesh Kukade, CDPO Bhamragad Shri Rahul Chavan, CDPO Chamorshi Shri Gajanan Bhandekar, Lady Supervisors of Chamorshi, Anganwadi workers and Anganwadi helpers of Chamorshi. Founder & CEO of TITLI Shri Pranjal Modi was present along with his team including Sushri Mayurika Tripathy, Sushri Parita Asher, Sushri Nishi Shah and Shri Mukesh Nagapure.

The Anganwadi Sevikas presented a small skit of how the program has helped them develop age- appropriate ways of teaching 3-6 years of children and the changes which occurred post the implementation of the Project. The anganwadi sevikas exhibited 7 centers like language, math, story, puppets, concepts, pretend play and blocks. All anganwadi sevikas and helpers made no/low-cost teaching-learning materials using naturally available and waste materials.
